**** So...I found this online photo editing program that had me wasting plenty of hours messing around with my backgroundless images, and find this too perfect not to post. My desire to do the original background I had in mind vanished once I came up with these 2 renderings of this picture, and I find I seem to favor this the most. It fits so perfectly and compliments the colors so well and has that grungy feel that appeals to me. So I am replacing the W.I.P. with this as a final draft Maybe I will add a background to the original later....maybe I won't. Original is moved here: [link] **** (From original posting)
I cant even count the number of nights I wished tomorrow wouldn't come Without love or dreams beaten by the rain Crying crying crying crying
To live just how I am now without changing what is it I need If you cant even believe in yourself what are you supposed to believe in The answers too close I cant see it
Black tears flow inside of me and there's nothing else just sadness I cant even put it in words my whole body is releasing pain and I cant face it all on my own --Kuroi Namida (Anna Tsuchiya) [link]
I have fallen in love...and have been heartbroken...by that anime.
Its no secret I have been in a bit of an art crisis that is not wood burning related. I have been trying for quite some time to just...draw....and its been so hard. The curse of doing two different mediums that are so time consuming!!! I might have to take a break from the burnings for a while which means I will hopefully be able to focus more on drawing.
This was for fun. Pure fun. But....This is the 2nd time I have drawn my J-rocker in a more serious light....and I gotta say....I am falling in love with her too Really the only reason I did this pic was because I just wanted to draw and color hair, that is my favorite part of drawing a character, is their hair and it just ended up adding on to itself as it went. I added the lotus tattoo in there at the last minute because her arm was just so bare and it just fit so perfectly.....I plan to get that tattoo myself but on my wrist!!! SOOOO EXCITED!
Anyways, its still just a W.I.P. because I am....wait for it.....wait for it.....going to add a background!!!! OMG!
Well...it won't be anything spectacular and detailed. I want to keep it simple because I don't want any kind of distractions from her. So I decided maybe rays of light with different shades of purple, to kinda give the feel of concert lights. But I was so excited about this that I just wanted to share <3
Done in watercolor pencils <3 (Background is digital)
i saw this pic while listening to a finnish metal band...and i love it. she actually looks a bit like the singer, and i can imagine her singing [link] all the same.
I can't remember exactly how long this took me but it might have spanned over the course of 2-3 days. I have this thing where once I start something and I am in the groove, I usually have to finish it All of my watercolor pencil work is dong in the following stages at the end of each provide good stopping points should I not have the time to complete it entirely: Sketch/clean up linework Transfer line work Color/shade -sometimes, this could be the final stage of the color in which case I skip the next step Use a wet paint brush and go over the pencil to blend and smooth the color When dry, I use a black pilot pen to do my outlining and then its done! The background to this was done digitally in the photo editor pixlr.
I can tell why it is so good, though it was done so quickly. You finished it quickly because you put your heart into it. When you put your heart into something, it may seem like it takes forever to do it, but when you finish, you realize that barely a minute has passed. In this case a minute is seventy-two hours, but you understand what I'm trying to say here: all of your art deserves this much attention. I learned early on if I didn't try, I'd never get a piece right.
